JUST IN: Trump Says He’s Sending Tom Homan to Minnesota TONIGHT as “Major Investigation” into Welfare Fraud and Ilhan Omar Underway
President Trump announced on Monday that he is sending Border Czar Tom Homan to Minnesota “tonight” amid the ongoing riots.
This comes after Border Patrol fatally shot a man, identified as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, during a struggle on Saturday morning after the suspect pulled his gun on agents, sparking riots and further attacks on law enforcement.
Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino told reporters on Saturday that the incident occurred while federal agents were attempting to arrest Jose Huerta Chuma of Ecuador, an illegal alien who had a record of domestic assault to intentionally inflict bodily harm, disorderly conduct, and driving without a valid license.
Meanwhile, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz responded to the incident, making no mention of the gun-wielding individual obstructing law enforcement. Instead, he claimed that Minnesotans, who were rioting at the time, were “peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights,” and he declared that he’s “creating a log of evidence for the future prosecution of ICE agents and officials responsible for this.”
Anti-ICE rioters immediately began clashing with ICE and setting fires as law enforcement deployed crowd control measures following Pretti’s death. Thousands of anti-ICE rioters established an “autonomous zone” after overwhelming Minneapolis police and driving them out of the area.

“He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there,” Trump said on Monday. “Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me.”
“Separately,” Trump continued, “a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets.”
“Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at ‘Congresswoman’ Illhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars.”
Somali fraudster Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is under investigation by House Republicans, probing how she went from low-IQ Somali to multi-millionaire while serving in Congress. Omar, whose community has stolen billions of dollars from the American people, has reportedly gone from being worth $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million now.
Trump has repeatedly highlighted her possible role in the fraud, crediting the chaos in Minnesota to a distraction or cover-up of the massive theft of taxpayer dollars.

Federal agents have been under siege, facing violent attacks, including one incident where a rioter bit an agent’s finger off.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump responded to the chaos on Sunday with a list of demands for Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and democratic Mayors and governors across the country.
Trump further called for Congress to “immediately pass Legislation to END Sanctuary Cities, which is the root cause of all of these problems.”
