Patriots’ Drake Maye Joins Elite QB Company After Beating Broncos
The New England Patriots are heading to the Super Bowl after a nail-biting victory over the Denver Broncos, winning 10-7 in the AFC Championship. Quarterback Drake Maye faced challenging weather conditions that made passing difficult, but he still managed to make several key plays with his legs.
Maye’s role in helping the Patriots secure a victory also allowed him to tie a few great quarterbacks in the record books. According to NFL Plus, Maye is the fourth quarterback since 2000 to win each of his first three career playoff starts.
The other three quarterbacks were Kurt Warner of the St. Louis Rams in 2000, Tom Brady of the Patriots in 2002, and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.
Warner and Brady both went on to claim the Super Bowl title, while Burrow suffered a defeat against the Rams.
Maye has tackled every challenge this postseason, and he has one more major hurdle as he is looking to win the Super Bowl, just as Brady did for the Patriots in his second NFL season.
