Fenerbache hope to take advantage of controversial Thomas Frank decision at Tottenham
Fenerbahce are looking to take advantage of a fallout between one Tottenham star and Thomas Frank to push through a January deal.
Thomas Frank’s decision to bring Dominic Solanke back into the Tottenham Champions League squad in place of Mathys Tel proved to be the right call, with Solanke leading the line impressively and finding the back of the net against Borussia Dortmund.
However, it appears that the decision has caused some fallout, with Tel’s camp furious at Frank for removing the forward from the squad.
It has since been reported that Tel remains keen on leaving Tottenham before the end of this window, with Paris FC trying to sign the 20-year-old on loan.
Fenerbache are working on Mathys Tel deal amidst friction with Tottenham
A new report in Milliyet has now claimed that Fenerbahce are working to give Tel a way out from Tottenham.
The Turkish club want to add a forward to their squad, given the uncertainty around Youssef En-Nesyri, and they have identified the Spurs man as a target.
Fenerbahce are hoping to take advantage of ‘the friction between Tel and Frank‘, and they are hoping that Spurs accept their proposal.
It is revealed that the Istanbul club are making attempts to land the former Bayern Munich man on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
Would Spurs be ready to offload Tel permanently?
Tel’s frustrations are understandable, and the forward rightly feels that he needs regular game time to take his game to the next level.
Given that he has shown clear signs of improvement over recent months, one would assume Tottenham would prefer a straight loan deal rather than a sale or a loan with an option to buy.
Even if Tel has fallen out with the Spurs boss, the reality is that Frank is far from guaranteed to be at Tottenham beyond the summer.
