Valencia enter race for £25m Tottenham man with just one start all season
Valencia are plotting a move for a Tottenham Hotspur star, who only made his first appearance of the season last week.
Tottenham sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace at the start of the transfer window, and reports indicate more players could be on their way out before the February 2 deadline.
Mathys Tel continues to push for a Spurs exit, and it has emerged that Radu Dragusin has his heart set on a return to Serie A.
Another Spurs star is now attracting interest as we enter the final week and a half of the transfer window.
Valencia could make a move for Tottenham midfielder
Journalist German Munoz has now revealed on social media that Valencia are considering making an approach for Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma.
Bissouma, who has been out injured for the majority of the season, made his first appearance of the season for the club last week after returning from AFCON. He then made his first start of the campaign in the 2-2 draw with Burnley.
Munoz says that even though the Mali international has just six months left on his Spurs contract, Valencia view it as a ‘complicated transfer’.
The La Liga club are also eyeing two other alternatives to Bissouma, namely West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez and Al-Ahly’s Aliou Dieng.
Will the latest injury developments change Spurs’ Bissouma stance?
While it was previously reported that Tottenham had made up their mind to cash in on Bissouma, speculation over the midfielder’s future has gone quiet over recent weeks.
That may have something to do with the fact that Rodrigo Bentancur is now out of action for several months, and just a couple of days ago, Lucas Bergvall also picked up an ankle injury.
Spurs may thus decide to keep the former Brighton man, particularly given that the Lilywhites have the option to extend Bissouma’s contract by one year.
