The online Water Polo Coaches Clinic examines how physical preparation for elite water polo has adapted to the evolving demands of the sport, particularly following the men’s game switching to a shortened 25 m pool.
With less total swimming and a marked increase in time spent in the vertical position, both on and off the ball, the fundamental changes required to succeed are explored in great detail.
Expert guidance on the greater emphasis on lower-body strength, stability, optimal body control and explosive power during one-on-one duels is also shared.
Dr Kuterovac’s methodology prepares athletes to excel in these phases of the game, while sustaining efficiency, robustness and output during the new, high-intensity match play.
As water polo continues to become faster and more physically demanding, the insights delivered offer significant value for all coaches at elite, national and club levels.
