Naomi Osaka Withdraws from Australian Open 2026 Due to Injury
Naomi Osaka‘s time in the 2026 Australian Open has been cut short.
On Saturday (January 24), the 28-year-old tennis star announced that she is withdrawing from the tennis tournament due to an undisclosed injury she suffered during her recent match against Romanian player Sorana Cîrstea.
Keep reading to find out more…“I’ve had to make the difficult decision to withdraw to address something my body needs attention for after my last math,” Naomi began on her Instagram Story.
“I was so excited to keep going and this one meant the most to me, so having to stop here breaks my heart, but I can’t risk doing any further damage, so I can get back on the court,” she continued. “Thanks for all the love and support…I’m so grateful everyone embraced me so much.”
Naomi concluded, “And thank you to my whole team for always having my back and the tournament organizers for being so kind.”
Naomi actually withdrew from the Australian Open last year as well due to recurring injury.
