22 Best Valentine’s Day Gifts for Your Toddler, According to a Toddler Mom

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, SheKnows may receive an affiliate commission.

When I wrote “What to Get Your Baby for Their First Valentine’s Day” last year, I really didn’t realize how much more fun the holidays get when your little potato turns into a walking, yapping toddler. I knew things would be different, but I didn’t get how much more interactive my daughter would be. Picking out the perfect Valentine’s Day gifts for my toddler has been an even bigger joy than last year (and I loved celebrating Valentine’s Day with my baby girl!).

My daughter is 17 months old, so she’s on the young side of a toddler—but she’s still toddling, figuring things out, exploring, and testing boundaries. So of course we’re going to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a small basket of toys, treats, and activities—and obviously some cute outfits. Here’s a Valentine’s Day guide based on my own experiences this year, as well as the products we’ve loved in our house.

The Best Toddler Valentine’s Day Gifts at a Glance

Hanna Anderson Valentine's HannaJams™ Pajama Set

$33 $55 40% off

Hanna Anderson makes the most ridiculously soft, stylish pajamas that I absolutely always stock up every season and holiday for my daughter. These are made of 100 percent organic combed cotton rib knit, which means they’re not only soft, but they’re sturdy as well (important—all baby and toddler clothes are washed a LOT). Right now, they’re on super sale, so grab ’em while they’re discounted.

Kyte Baby Sleep Sack in Bear Hearts 1.0

Your toddler may not need a sleep sack anymore, but my daughter still loves hers, and it’s a fun opportunity to incorporate the holidays. I love Kyte Baby’s designs, and their fabric is not-of-this-world snuggly-soft. It’s pricey, but I’ve noticed the better quality the sleep sack, usually the more breathable and comfortable it is—and this helps my kid sleep through the night. Plus, those bears!

Warmies Be Mine Curly Dog Plush Toy

Pop this dog plush in the microwave and your toddler will have literal hours of cozy, warm comfort. I send my daughter to preschool with a Warmies stuffy, since she still has separation anxiety, and her teachers tell me it truly does provide her with comfort.

Melissa & Doug Water Wow! Mess Free Coloring Book

I was introduced to Melissa & Doug’s Water Wow coloring books when my daughter turned one: “They’ll change your life. It keeps them busy for hours, and truly no mess,” my friend told me (she gifted us one for Mila’s birthday). Fill the pen with water, and watch your LO “color” the pages as they turn to life. Definitely an airplane must-have!

Little Spoon Chocolate Chip Oat Bakes

My daughter *loves* Little Spoon Oat Bakes, and they taste so delicious, she’d never know they were actually healthy. Filled with good stuff like chia, flax, hemp seed, and zucchini, these chocolate chip treats are fiber-friendly, and contain enough protein to keep them full during snack time. They’re just a good alternative to sugary candies and cookies without feeling like you’re tricking your kid.

Once Upon a Farm Organic Immunity Blends Variety Pack

These Immunity Blend fruit pouches have no added sugar and feature probiotics, so you can feel good you’re giving your toddler something nutritious and is helping them *go*. My daughter loves these, and I can’t blame her—I’ll grab one myself in the morning when I’m running late, and find myself wishing I had three more on me.

Little Bellies Organic Animal Crackers (5-Pack)

Instead of sugary cookies, I try to opt for a healthier option, like Little Bellies’ animal crackers, which are made with organic whole wheat flour and sweetened with organic grape juice concentrate.

Gruns Superfood Greens Gummies for Kids

My daughter’s still too young for these gummy vitamins, but my friend’s three-year-old son *loves* these, and he refuses to eat any other vitamin gummy. (I take the grown-up version and I fully get the obsession.) Kids have no idea these gummies have over 21 vitamins and essential nutrients and prebiotics that support healthy tummies—they just think it’s candy.

Tub Works® Bath Paint Soap Bath Toy

$13.99 $16.99 18% off
Buy Now On Amazon

This is currently my toddler’s hyper-fixation during bathtime. I’ll squirt some of this non-toxic “paint” on the side of the bath tub, and she’ll have a blast smearing it everywhere. Unlike the horrorshow that is some bath bombs on the market, these do not stain your white tub.

Tubby Todd Valentine's Day Collection Hair + Body Wash & Everyday Lotion

I actually featured the Valentine’s Day Tubby Todd collection in my Baby’s First Valentine’s Day guide because I love this brand so much. Whenever they release a new collection, I always snag it because the fragrances are so yummy while still being gentle on baby skin. This set features the brand’s Raspberry Black Currant fragrance, and you get the hair & body wash, plus the lotion. We’ve been using these formulas since my daughter was a newborn!

Hatley Kids' Big Hearts Hooded Fleece Robe

This heart-adorned robe comes with a hood to keep wet heads toasty, front pockets (for snacks and crumbs, obviously), and a removable waist tie for convenience. It’s extra snuggly, so it’s fine (and maybe to be expected) if your LO falls asleep in this.

Carter's Valentine's Day 2-Piece Heart French Terry Long-Sleeve Tee & Pant Set

$12 $24 50% off
Buy Now

February is always the coldest month of the year, so I prep ahead of Valentine’s Day with a cozy outfit: Carter’s has great ones, and this two-piece French terry set is cozy, cute, and comes in sizes up to 24 months.

GAP Baby & Toddler Heart Horseshoe Overalls

I’ve found the best clothes for toddlers at GAP—especially for special occasions. The sizing is almost always consistent, the quality is there, and the designs are super cute. These heart-adorned overalls are perfect for Valentine’s Day, but make sense for any other day of the year, so you can get the most mileage out of ’em.

Babiators Kids' Polarized Heart Shaped Sunglasses

I didn’t get the need for specifically-designed-for-toddlers sunglasses until I gave my daughter a cute–but cheap—sunglasses. She promptly destroyed them in minutes, and she’s not even a particularly destructive kid. Babiators are built to withstand even the most creatively mobile children. Their lenses are shatter-proof and they won’t break no matter how many directions they’re pulled or twisted in. The UV400 lenses offer full UVA and UVB protection, so they’re functional, too.

Squishmallows 10" Omar The Valentine's Day Bear

It’s an unofficial rule in our household that you get a Squishmallow for every holiday, and Valentine’s Day is a big one. Mila loves bears, so naturally, Omar the Valentine’s Day Bear has been a big hit.

Stick4Ever Jelly Reusable Sticker Book

Reusable stickers are the way to go: These jelly stickers cling to the book they come with, but they also (temporarily) stick to every flat surface imaginable. They’re waterproof and washable, so you don’t need to stress if your kid dunks them in juice or decides the sticker kitty needs a helping of mac and cheese.

Pottery Barn Valentine's Day Sugar Cookie Set

“Bake” cookies with these soft, felt heart-shaped pieces of dough: You also get a wooden pan, spatula, and aluminum cookie cutters with this set. Toy food is such a fun way to boost your LO’s creativity and inner chef. (And it’s way less of a pain than the real thing.)

JUPITEARTH 6 Colors Egg Crayons

At my daughters age, she just wants to put regular crayons in her mouth and chew on them. With these egg-shaped crayons, she can better grasp them, and she understands that they create different colors when she brings them to a paper. They’ve been a great introduction to art, and one of our favorite activities at home.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse!" Book

$5.77 $9.99 42% off
Buy Now On Amazon

If your LO loves If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, they’ll love this book: It follows Mouse on Valentine’s Day as he crafts Valentine’s for his pals.

Kohl's Cares® Love Monster Plush Toy and Book Bundle

Love Monster is a favorite bedtime read in our house, but I didn’t realize that this Kohl’s bundle came with a Love Monster plush!

Canopy Nursery Humidifier 2.0

If you don’t have a humidifier this time of year, get one. Canopy’s humidifier is pricier, but it gives me peace of mind knowing it’s mold-resistant and is dishwasher safe when you do give the parts a rinse. Plus, the nursery humidifier is also a white noise machine!

Chicco 3-in-1 Potty Training System

If you’re looking for practical gifts this Valentine’s Day, we love the 3-in-1 Potty Training System—even if your toddler isn’t totally ready for the potty! I actually gifted my now-17-month-old this potty for Christmas as an introduction, so she gets used to the idea of a potty before I actually show her how to use it. I love that this potty works as a standalone seat, topper, and eventually as just a stepping stool for the big toilet.
