Tottenham Hotspur continue to dream of landing Yan Diomande, but they have now been handed a reality check regarding the RB Leipzig winger.

Spurs have reportedly identified a whole host of wingers across Europe as potential targets as they look to bolster their attack before the window slams shut.

It was previously claimed that Diomande was among the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, and some sources even suggested at the start of this month that Spurs were among the clubs leading the race for the 19-year-old.

However, it has become clear over recent weeks that Diomande is unlikely to leave Leipzig in January, and the Lilywhites have just found out that the race for the winger is about to get extremely complicated.

Diomande has become ‘one of the most coveted wingers in Europe’ and is set to be the subject of a major bidding war at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping an eye on the Leipzig man’s situation, but they have been joined by Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich in the transfer race.

Leipzig have informed all parties that negotiations for their star man will only begin at €100m (£87.4m).

Clear favourite emerging in race for Diomande

CaughtOffside say that among these suitors, Liverpool are currently showing the ‘strongest’ interest in the pacy winger.

The Reds have identified the teenager as the long-term successor to Mohammed Salah and are expected to make a formal approach over the coming months.

Two weeks ago, Diomande himself named Liverpool as his dream destination, which potentially gives the Merseyside club a huge advantage in the transfer race.
