Thank You President Trump for De-Funding Research With Aborted Baby Parts
Operation Rescue commends the Trump administration for finally bringing an end to all funding for research involving tissue from aborted babies.
In the summer of 2015, a series of undercover videos was released showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing the gruesome details of their program for harvesting organs and tissue from babies aborted at Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide. The tiny livers, hearts, brains, and limbs were then sold to middle-man organ distributors and research laboratories around the world — including government-funded research in America.

The shocking video footage was gathered by The Center for Medical Progress, a group of pro-life citizen journalists and activists, including CMP co-founder Troy Newman who also serves as President of Operation Rescue.
The use of fetal tissue for government research became increasingly controversial after the undercover investigation revealed the immoral nature of procuring, profiting from, and researching with aborted baby tissue.
In 2019, President Donald J. Trump halted the use of fetal tissue by government scientists. Unfortunately, under the Biden Administration, such experimentation was allowed to continue.
However, on January 22 — the anniversary of Roe v Wade and one day before the National March For Life — President Trump announced the National Institute of Health will not fund any research involving fetal tissue from aborted babies – not just research done by government scientists.
Newman offered this statement in response to the Trump administration’s historic decision:
“Thank you, President Donald J. Trump and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Operation Rescue has been working for over a decade to bring an end to the sale of aborted babies’ bodies. Since 2015, especially, when we publicly exposed the illegal market for fetal body parts running rampant in the abortion industry and in the back rooms of Planned Parenthoods, we have been calling for an end to this funding. Today is a monumental step in acknowledging the dignity of children in the womb and moving ever closer to restoring personhood to these precious children. Every human life deserves protection from conception to natural death — not to become a fruitless science experiment for the highest bidder. The Trump administration has done well to put a stop to bad science and brutal experimentation.”
