Jason Statham Action Sequel Sets Winter Release Date
Jason Statham's highly anticipated action sequel The Beekeeper 2 has set an official release date of January 15, 2027, per Deadline.
The film will be released almost exactly three years after the previous installment, which saw Statham play a vengeful beekeeper-turned-assassin who's tasted with protecting the U.S. President from a dangerous assassination plot.
The Beekeeper pulled in $162.6 million at the box office, and achieved unexpected critical acclaim with its Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%.
Who Else Is In The Beekeeper 2?
The Beekeeper 2 sees Jason Statham return to his now-iconic role, with newcomers to the cast including Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland. Returning actors Jemma Redgrave, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Jeremy Irons will also be back.
While no official synopsis has been announced for The Beekeeper 2 yet, it's safe to assume that this action sequel will once again see Statham's protagonist face off against the deadly apiarists of the first movie.
Principal photography for The Beekeeper2 reportedly began on September 26, 2025, with filming coming to a close just two months later. The film will be distributed by Amazon MGM studios, who maintained control of the franchise following a $50 million deal for the sequel's rights.
In the meantime, Statham's fans have two upcoming movies to keep them occupied. Shelter, a thriller about a former assassin who turns against his employers to protect a young girl, will be released on January 30th. Mutiny, an action film about a private security officer who's framed for murdering a billionaire, will be released by Lionsgate Films on August 21.
