3 Children Hide in Closet & Call Police amid Fatal 'Domestic Related' Shooting at Home, Which Left 4 Dead
Three children retreated to safety amid a fatal shooting that took place at a Georgia home.
On Friday (January 23), Gwinnett County Police responded to a call regarding shots fired around 2:30 a.m. at a home in Lawrenceville, according to a news release.
“Upon arrival, officers located four deceased adults inside the home, all suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” authorities reported, adding, “Three children were also located inside the residence, hiding in a closet unharmed.”

Investigators told Fox 5 Atlanta that one of the children called the police to alert them of the situation, which helped authorities respond “within minutes.”
Gwinnett County Police noted that the quick response time helped apprehend a suspect, whose car was still in the driveway when they arrived. K-9 officers were able to locate him along a nearby woodline, and he was apprehended.
The identities of the suspect, the victims and the children have not been released. The children are safely in the custody of family, according to Fox 5. Their relation to the victims was not clarified.
Investigators told the outlet that police had replied to previous calls at the property.
In their release, Gwinnett County Police noted that there were “no outstanding suspects” and that the motive appeared to be “domestic related,” though it was still under investigation.
