There’s just over a week to go in the January transfer window, so Tottenham had better get a move on if they want to secure any of their remaining targets.
As we approach the end of the week and with the end of the transfer window in sight, Tottenham have finally got their second signing through the door.
Souza arrives from Santos for a fee of around £15m after weeks of speculation. It sounds like Thomas Frank is pretty pleased with the signing of Souza, but the Spurs boss clearly needs more reinforcements.
Injuries continue to pile up, and a positive result against Borussia Dortmund will only keep the good vibes going for so long. So, let’s see who could still come in this month and who might be on their way out of Tottenham.
What’s the latest on Micky van de Ven’s future at Tottenham?
We continue to fear the worst when it comes to Micky van de Ven’s future in North London, with more and more reports suggesting he could leave Spurs.
With Liverpool and Real Madrid keen on the Dutchman, Tottenham have been told that van de Ven will sign a new deal on one condition: that they make a statement by appointing an elite manager.
It’s thought Liverpool are planning a £78m bid for van de Ven, and if he continues to shun a new deal, they may have to cut their losses and accept.
West Ham and Spurs could be doing business
West Ham inflicted a damaging defeat on Tottenham and Thomas Frank last weekend. Now, the two clubs could be exchanging players.
First of all, it’s said Antonin Kinsky and Mads Hermansen could trade places. It’s a weird rumour, but the two goalkeepers could go in opposite directions on loan until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Spurs are considering a £25m bid for Crysencio Summerville. They must have been impressed by how he tore them apart in that 2-1 win for West Ham.
Tottenham’s latest midfield options
It’s thought Spurs are looking for another midfielder despite the signing of Conor Gallagher. However, we are led to believe that interest in Hayden Hackney is diminishing.
Instead, Tottenham may turn to Curtis Jones. The Liverpool man is keen to get regular minutes and he might just get that in N17.
Regardless, Adam Wharton is still the dream for Spurs. Whether they can afford him and tempt him there instead of the other elite clubs tracking him is another matter.

Other news for Spurs includes the fact that they are still chasing Jorgen Strand Larsen. It’s said at least ten clubs are keen on the Wolves man despite his struggles in front of goal this term.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are not planning to sell any more players this month. That will frustrate both Radu Dragusin and Mathys Tel, who were looking to move on.
One player who does look set to depart, though, is Alejo Veliz. There’s been a delay in his transfer to Bahia, however, with Veliz calmly assessing his options.
