Women targeted in Calabasas armed robberies
Women have been the target of several armed robberies in Calabasas and one attempted robbery in Westlake Village in recent weeks, and authorities are advising residents to walk in pairs.
The two armed robberies occurred at the Commons at Calabasas shopping area on Jan.13 and Jan. 21, said Los Angleses sheriff’s Lt. Ronald Klumpp, targeting women with designer bags.
In the Westlake Village area, an armed suspect knocked on a woman’s car window but ran away after the woman began honking her horn on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Authorities are “asking (residents) to remain vigilant of their surroundings,” said Klumpp.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified. The sheriff’s department is investigating the incidents.
