Nicole Kidman’s daughters won’t meet Keith Urban’s reported new girlfriend

Nicole Kidman’s two teenage daughters are reportedly refusing to meet the 26-year-old up-and-coming country star who may be dating their father, Keith Urban

Just four months after the shocking news broke that Kidman and Urban were ending a 19-year-old marriage that was long believed to be one of Hollywood’s most stable, the 58-year-old Urban has been linked to Karley Scott Collins, who is 32 years his junior and just nine years older than his oldest daughter, Sunday Rose, 17.

The Daily Mail reported this week that the Australian country star is rumored to have moved on from his broken marriage to fellow Aussie Kidman, 58, and that he was living with Collins. The younger woman sought to deny the report by going on Instagram Story to call the rumors “absolutely RIDICULOUS and untrue.”

But entertainment and gossip writer Rob Shuter confirmed the new relationship on his Naughty But Nice Substack this week, writing that Sunday and her sister, Faith Margaret, are still adjusting to their parents’ divorce and are “prioritizing their own healing over anything else.” To that end, they have reportedly refused to meet Urban’s new girlfriend, as a sign of loyalty to their mother, Shuter said.

“The girls are really focused on Mom right now,” a family friend told Shuter.  “They’re adjusting to all the changes, and it’s natural they want to protect their space.”

But Urban is eager to move on, so his daughters’ reluctance to meet Collins has created “tensions” for him, according to Shuter.

“Keith is trying to balance his own life with his daughters’ needs,” a source told Shuter. “Keith loves his girls, but he’s realizing that his happiness can’t come at the expense of theirs. It’s a delicate balance, and he’s learning that patience is key.”

Meanwhile, Kidman is trying to rebuild her own sense of normalcy and putting her family first, Shuter said.

Meanwhile, Shuter said Collins’ Instagram Story post suggests that she “seems to be enjoying all the attention.” He added that she has previously worked with Urban and has an album coming out. ” “I think she took to social media to make the story have another day,” he said.

Shuter also agreed with “The Nerve” podcast host Maureen Callahan that it should be easy for Kidman’s daughters to avoid spending time with anyone their father is dating right now, even if the girls and their mother continue to live in Nashville, near their father’s new home.

On The Nerve this week, both Shuter and Callahan pointed out that the custody agreement between Kidman and Urban, which was a “sticking point” in the divorce for the “Big Little Lies” star, has their daughters living with Kidman most of the time, the Daily Mail reported earlier this month. Under the agreement, she will have the girls 306 days a year, while Urban will get them every other weekend, totaling 59 days.

For the Oscar winner, there are reasons it made sense for the girls to be with her more.

“Keith has a bunch of tour dates coming up, and his schedule is a little less flexible than Nicole’s,” a source told the Daily Mail. Kidman, on the other hand, “enjoys being a homebody when she isn’t on set.” Even if she’s off filming a movie or TV series, the girls can be with her and “that is a much better atmosphere than backstage at a concert,” the source said.

Also, the girls, who are in their teens “need their mother more than their father at this age,” another Daily Mail source said.
