In a statement provided to Just Jared, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “At the Board of Peace event today in Davos, President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise.”
White House officials have previously said that the president is susceptible to bruising due to his daily use of aspirin. His right hand is often bruised, which they have attributed to him shaking hands.
“President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history,” Leavitt has said in a previous statements. “His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.”
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal earlier this month, Trump recalled a time that he was left with a bleeding wound on his hand after exchanging a high five with Attorney General Pam Bondi.
He explained that her ring nicked his skin.
Trump has been seen before with makeup applied to his hands to cover up bruising. He told The Wall Street Journal that he uses it whenever he gets “whacked, saying that it was “easy to put on” and “takes about 10 seconds.”
A recent report revealed the shocking amount of money the president has reportedly earned during the first year of his second term.
