Beauty queen, 21, dies after ‘tragic accident’
A town is in mourning after a much-loved beauty queen died in a ‘tragic accident’ at the age of 21.
Eleisha Skinner was Miss Faversham 2022 and has been described as a ‘truly lovely girl’ with an ‘infectious smile’.
In a statement today, the Faversham Carnival Club said: ‘It is with deep regret and sadness that we have to let you know that our beautiful Miss Faversham 2022, Eleisha Skinner, died on January 8 following a tragic accident.’
Further details of the incident have not yet been released – but a fundraiser has been launched by her family for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The club’s statement added: ‘Eleisha was a fantastic ambassador for Faversham and a truly lovely girl. We all have some lovely memories of our time spent with her.

‘Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this devastating time. Eleisha will be missed by so many.’
Scores more tributes have been posted online.
Caroline Kyaba wrote: ‘Eleisha was a beautiful soul with an infectious smile. She always spoke with love about her beautiful family.
‘I remember her proudly sharing photos of her brother’s graduation from the army, and the hope and confidence she had in him.’
Chanelle Lawrence said: ‘It’s always the best that get taken too soon. You were the heart of carnival, and I’m eternally grateful for the memories we made in the years we spent together.’
A GoFundMe has been launched in Eleisha’s name for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which the family says was ‘fantastic’.
‘With the amazing response of the emergency services, we were able to spend her last few days with her,’ they added.
So far, almost £2,000 has been raised, with dozens of donations in honour of the youngster.
A celebration of Eleisha’s life will take place on Friday, February 6, at 2.30pm at St Mary of Charity Church, Faversham, followed by a wake at Judd’s Folly, Faversham.
