Turf Moor is a nice play to go for teams who need points, but Tottenham Hotspur might not find things straightforward when they take on Burnley this Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action on Saturday and the squad’s morale will have been boosted a lot following a decisive 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Burnley will be hoping for a better result against Spurs than what the Bundeliga club achieved, but they are without a win at home since October.
However, Tottenham’s record against bottom half teams in the top flight this season could actually point towards the hosts taking all three points at the weekend.
Tottenham have been dreadful against bottom five Premier League teams
Thomas Frank will be expected to oversee another triumph after his team’s performance on Tuesday, but their record against bottom five teams in the Premier League table is abysmal.

Spurs, who currently sit 14th, have been defeated in their four most recent meetings against bottom five sides and this includes away matches against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
There have only been two occasions when Spurs have taken any points off a club in the bottom five. The first of these was the 3-0 victory over West Ham in September, while the second was a 1-1 draw against last place Wolves later that month.
Spurs must avoid repeating past mistakes
Tottenham have been the team to get their struggling opponents back in form and this simply has to stop. It is all well and good seeing off the likes of Borussia Dortmund, but winning matches against weaker teams is just as important.
Burnley have actually improved in recent weeks and they managed to get draws against Manchester United and Liverpool, but their home form is still a concern.
Spurs cannot continue to be the team allowing the worst sides in the Premier League to get back to winning ways. That means a win this Saturday is not just an aspiration, it is a requirement.
