Tottenham make big January transfer decision that will annoy Tel and Dragusin

Tottenham Hotspur have made a big decision on what they will do in the final week of the transfer window, amidst the turmoil surrounding the club. 

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Spurs at the moment, with Thomas Frank’s job far from secure.

This is the last thing that the club would have wanted in the middle of the January transfer window, particularly as some players in their squad want to head through the exit door.

According to various reports, Mathys Tel is keen on leaving Spurs on loan, while sources from Italy indicate that Radu Dragusin is also pushing for an exit.

Tottenham make decision on January player exits

It has now been revealed by Pete O’Rourke that, given the uncertainty surrounding Spurs at the moment, the club have decided that there will be no more player sales in January.

The journalist revealed that after cashing in on Brennan Johnson, Tottenham have decided that they do not want to weaken their squad any further.

O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Right now, Spurs don’t want to let anybody go. They’ve already seen Brennan Johnson leave to join Crystal Palace.

“That’s weakened their squad, and they’ve had injury problems all season. James Maddison has been out long-term, and Kulusevski has been out long-term.

“Tottenham are more interested in strengthening their squad rather than weakening it right now. They’ve obviously brought in Conor Gallagher.

“As things stand, Thomas Frank doesn’t want to lose anybody in his squad because he needs them if he is to try and turn around their fortunes.”

Spurs face a dilemma in deciding on potential incomings

Conor Gallagher may not be the only high-profile signing to arrive through the door at Hotspur Way this summer.

Reports indicate that Tottenham also want to add a top-class winger to their squad and are assessing a whole host of options across Europe.

However, with Frank potentially not set to last for long at Spurs, the club may be hesitant to back the Dane with the signings he wants, as there is no guarantee that the players coming through the door will fit into the plans of the club’s next head coach.
