First 2026 Medals for Dereham Otters
Swim England Norfolk County Championships 2026 took place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January at Sportspark UEA, Norwich, delivering standout performances from local swimmers and an impressive start to the competitive year.
Anastasja Wall made an immediate impact on Saturday 17 January, competing in the 800m Freestyle. She secured third place in her age group, earning the first Dereham Otters medal of 2026 at the championships and setting the tone for a successful weekend.
Building on that momentum, Anastasja returned to the pool on Sunday 18 January for the 1,500m Freestyle, where she produced a remarkable swim. She won the event, becoming Norfolk County Champion for her age group, and achieved a huge 30-second personal best, marking a amazing start to the year.
Also competing in the 1,500m Freestyle on Sunday was Charley Taylor, who delivered an outstanding performance of her own. Charley recorded a massive 53-second personal best, finishing fourth overall in her age group at the Championships—an excellent result in a highly competitive field.
The weekend showcased the depth of local swimming talent and highlighted a promising start to the 2026 season for Dereham Otters’ young athletes.
