North West Raps About Getting 'Banned' From School in New Song With Her Dad, Kanye West
North West raps that she was “banned” from school in a new song with her dad, Kanye West.
The 12-year-old daughter of the Grammy winner and Kim Kardashian shared a teaser for the track on her Instagram Story on January 16, writing, “Piercing on my hand @ye version,” tagging her dad’s official account.
Over a beat presumably made by her producer/rapper father, North raps: “Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands / No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand / Shopping in Japan, that’s where I always stand.” The line references North’s finger piercing, which sparked backlash in August 2025.

North goes on to rap about missing out on school, saying, “Went to school for two days, then I got banned / Skipping school, yeah, I do it on the daily.”
“All my friends are hits, you know I’m not lazy / You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream,” she continues. “I want more piercings and tats / I love blue hair, put it in some plaits / Put the music to the max, I want a hundred thousand racks.” In another 2025 moment that caused backlash, North stepped out with fake face tattoos.
North, and younger siblings Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, joined their father on a trip to Japan in January 2025, where Kanye posted about working on music with his oldest daughter.
The 48-year-old posted a since-deleted photo of North beside a keyboard in a makeshift studio, captioned, “This little girl made me love music again.”
“She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY,” he added, a reference to his 12th studio album, which is expected to be released on January 30.
In 2024, North announced that she was working on her debut album, titled “Elementary School Dropout,” a reference to her father’s 2004 record “The College Dropout,” per NME. North’s album has yet to be released.
Last year, North was featured, alongside her dad, on FKA Twigs’ song, “Childlike Things.”
