Iran Denounces Kabul Chinese Hotel Blast
Iran condemned a deadly Kabul hotel bombing, calling it terrorism, expressing solidarity with Afghanistan and China, and urging regional cooperation against threats.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei described the explosion at a Kabul hotel as a terrorist act and strongly condemned the attack.
In a statement released Tuesday, Baghaei offered condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with both Afghanistan and China.
He said Iran maintains a principled position against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, stressing that such attacks threaten regional stability.
Baghaei also underlined the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to confront growing terrorist threats effectively.
The blast has drawn wider concern because Chinese nationals were among the victims, highlighting persistent security risks facing foreign citizens in Afghanistan.
China has since called on the Taliban to seriously ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, projects, and institutions operating in the country.
According to local officials, six Afghan citizens and one Chinese national were killed in the explosion, while several others were wounded.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, reinforcing fears that militant groups continue to pose serious challenges to regional security.
