Why We Love This Deal
A puffer is always one of the best jackets to wear from fall to spring, but they're even better when they're packable and can be stashed in a built-in pocket or an included stuff sack. While many of these packable jackets offer good insulation, some brands add on key details where others fall short, and that’s exactly what you get with Lucky Brand’s Clarkson jacket, along with a sweet discount.
First of all, Lucky Brand’s Clarkson Water-Resistant Packable Puffer Jacket is on sale for $70 at Nordstrom Rack, a 64% discount off its full price of $195. This stylish jacket does more than block out the wind while preserving body heat—it’s also packable (into a stuff sack) and water-resistant, and it comes with many convenient pockets.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Category: Insulated puffer jacket
- Color: Black
- Size: Small to 2XL
- Water-Resistant: Yes
- Fill: 100% recycled polyester
- Packability: Storage sack
This puffer is decently insulated with poly-fill and has a clean, channel quilted, water-resistant shell that's lightweight and offers protection from the elements. One thing that immediately stood out to us was the full-zippered hand pockets and vertical-zippered chest pocket for stashing your phone. Many basic puffers we see don't offer this much storage. This one is also built with a stand collar to keep the wind off your neck, and comes with its own separate sack that you can roll up and pack away, compared to some others that roll into the internal pocket.
This may seem less convenient, but it depends on how you look at it. To use it, simply roll the jacket up, toss it in the bag, and store it in a carry-on or use it as lumbar support on the plane. This small detail may help it last longer, as it doesn't involve constant crumpling of the jacket and pressure against any of the garment's seams.
At $70, this puffer is significantly lower-priced than those from major outdoor brands, like Patagonia’s Nano Puff Jacket ($229 at REI) and The North Face’s Terra Peak Insulated Jacket ($220 at REI). We'd put this safely in the mid-tier category as something great for style that'll keep you relatively warm, but we wouldn't take it on a backcountry adventure.

What Shoppers Are Saying
This puffer may have only a handful of reviews at the Rack, but almost every one was impressed with its performance. One reviewer loved it, stating that it was “great” in the rain. They said, “I was caught in a rainstorm, and I can vouch for the effectiveness.”
They found it extremely handy with its waterproof packable bag for traveling, and noted that it was warm enough for cool temperatures, while stating that cold weather required more layering.
With its $125 discount, this Lucky Brand packable puffer jacket is likely to sell out fast. Make sure you grab yours before it’s too late.
