Tens of Thousands of Pro-Life Americans Will March for Life
Tens of thousands of pro-life Americans are expected to gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Friday, January 23, for the 53rd annual March for Life, demonstrating steadfast commitment to protecting babies from abortion in the post-Roe era.
The event, themed “Life Is a Gift,” highlights that life is very good and worthy of protection, no matter the circumstances.
Vice President J.D. Vance will headline the pre-march rally, marking his second consecutive year addressing the crowd.

A spokesman for Vance said, “Vice President Vance is grateful to the tens of thousands of Americans who travel to the National Mall each year to speak out in support of life, and looks forward to joining them for the second consecutive year.”
The spokesman added that “President Trump has delivered more victories for the pro-life movement than any president in history,” and affirmed that “the vice president will continue to fight for the right to life alongside the president and his administration.”
Other speakers will include House Speaker Mike Johnson and Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., along with additional pro-life leaders.
The March for Life, described as one of the world’s largest human rights demonstrations, will draw participants from across the nation to rally peacefully for the protection of unborn children.
Organizers highlight that, despite the 2022 Dobbs decision ending abortion on demand up to birth under Roe v. Wade, the fight continues against state-level abortions and for broader safeguards.
Currently in America, 18 states protect babies from abortion — 12 states protect babies throughout pregnancy, four have heartbeat laws that save babies starting at 6 weeks, and two protect babies after 12 weeks.
“With the role of the states being more important, we are also growing a strong state march for life initiative quickly,” the March for Life says, “however, we will continue to march every January at the national level until a culture of life is restored in the United States of America.”
Participants are expected to carry signs, pray and march to affirm that life begins at conception and deserves protection. The event will underscore ongoing resolve to advance pro-life policies and continued efforts to limit abortion access. The March for Life remains a key annual gathering for advocates who view the protection of unborn life as a fundamental human right.
