Furious guest blitzes CNN's Scott Jennings after glib Epstein quip: 'It is disgusting'
CNN's controversial conservative Scott Jennings set of an explosion of anger Monday night — just hours after another network regular risked her career to hammer his frequent appearances.
During a discussion on the Department of Justice stalling on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, Jennings glibly stated, “They should follow the law, but let’s not get our knickers in a twist here.”
That led to a fierce — and personal — attack from author Leigh McGowan who talked over him and sarcastically exclaimed, “Yeah, let’s not get our knickers in a twist over child rape!” as Jennings smirked.
“Why are you talking like that? It’s insane, like it’s insane!” she continued as he protested, “What’s insane?”
Continuing by talking over him, McGowan said, “The Epstein files are a multinational, multi-generational child and woman sex trafficking ring. Your attitude right now, your sort of, well, ‘shucks, devil be gone,’ is just horrifying to me. Every woman in the world who is watching this — why are you acting like you have no idea what is going on? What's happening here?”
“You asked me a question about following the law, and I said they should follow the law,” Jennings shot back.
“They’re not following the law, they’re 30 days late following the law,” McGowan lectured him.
“I know you have a strong opinion about it, I respect that,” the CNN conservative attempted.
“I have a strong opinion about it because it is disgusting,” she shot back. “They are hiding it. It is not the behavior of innocent people. Everything that is in these files, it could bring an entire house down and, if it has to, it has to.”
“If it brings down Democrats, bring them down. If it brings down Republicans, bring them down,” she added. “If it brings down princes, world leaders, Hollywood people, bring them down.”
