Don Lemon Fires Back at Nicki Minaj Amid Her Controversial Homophobic Slur Post
Nicki Minaj did not like journalist Don Lemon‘s recent coverage of ICE protests in Minnesota.
Over the weekend, the 59-year-old former CNN anchor covered the protests outside of a church service where an apparently acting field office director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in St. Paul, Minnesota works.
Nicki seemingly reacted to some of the coverage by posting, “DON ‘C— SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!”
Don appeared on the “I’ve Had It Podcast” today (January 19), where co-host Jennifer Welch read aloud the tweet and he was able to live respond.

He said, in part, “Nicki Minaj is not a Christian. She knows nothing about a Christian. What she is — is a grifter. Nicki Minaj doesn’t care about black people. She doesn’t care about gay people. Those are two of her biggest supporters and the people who make her rich.”
He continued, “If we were in the day where we…where we bought records, I would be burning Nicki Minaj’s records today. So, I’m so glad that I’ve never been a Nicki Minaj fan. I don’t know her music. There’s nothing on my playlist that’s ever Nicki Minaj, and…there isn’t going to be because she is an ignorant pick me, and I choose not to pick her.”
