Bindi Irwin’s Marriage Reportedly ‘Struggling’ by Robert ‘Chasing Fame’—She’s ‘Caught in the Middle’ With Her Brother & Husband

Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, are set to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary in March, but it looks like it hasn’t always been a smooth ride for the couple.

A source told The National Enquirer in a report published on January 16 that Steve Irwin’s daughter is “struggling” in her marriage due to her husband’s tension with her brother, Robert Irwin, who recently won Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars and is the new host of Australia’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. “Chandler feels like Robert has turned his back on Australia Zoo,” the insider said. “While Robert is out there chasing fame, Chandler is working non-stop and putting in blood, sweat and tears to keep the Irwin family legacy alive. He’s exhausted.”

The Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland, Australia, is owned by Bindi and Robert’s mother, Terri Irwin, while Bindi serves as the chief executive officer and Robert is a part of the management team. “Robert says he’s doing all of this for the family — not turning his back on them,” the source said. “Chandler isn’t buying it, though. He’s accusing Robert of going totally Hollywood.”

The insider continued, “Bindi is really struggling. She adores them both and hates being caught in the middle.” Despite the drama between her husband and brother, the source noted that Bindi and Robert still have a close relationship. “Bindi is very protective of her brother,” the insider said. “Now it’s affecting their marriage.”

Bindi and Chandler, a professional wakeboarder from Florida, married in 2020 seven years after first meeting at the Australia Zoo in 2013. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Grace Warrior, on March 25, 2021, which was their one-year wedding anniversary. Like Robert, Bindi is also a Dancing With the Stars winner. She won Season 21 with professional dancer Derek Hough in 2015. Robert, for his part, won the series in 2025—a decade later—with professional dancer Witney Carson.
