EU member states on Monday are exploring countermeasures in response to US President Donald Trump's tariff threats over Greenland, which he has expressed interest in acquiring despite opposition from Denmark and the EU. “This is not only about trade; it is putting enormous, unexpected stress on the transatlantic relationship,” said Carsten Brzeski, Global Head of Macro for ING Research, adding that it is likely the most challenging situation for transatlantic relations since the end of World War II.
