Fitzgerald Looking Ahead To Accies Test
Hibs Women midfielder Jess Fitzgerald is now looking ahead to our next fixture following a "disappointing" result against Rangers.
An early dismissal of midfield partner, Kirsten Reilly, aided the hosts in their pursuit of a lead following an incredibly tight stalement in the opening half-hour at Broadwood Stadium.
Two quickfire Rangers goals before the break - as Hibs shifted into a new shape following the contentious red card awarded to Reilly - put the home team in control, before Kathleen McGovern netted deep in second half stoppage-time.
The tough defeat means Hibs have now taken just two points from the last 15 in the league; following matches against the current fellow top clubs in the country in Glasgow City, Celtic, Hearts, Montrose, and the Gers.
"I think we're all really disappointed with the results," Fitzgerald told Hibs TV.
"A couple of results haven't gone our way in the past while, so we were hoping for this one to go our way, but unfortunately it hasn't.
"It was a difficult match due to circumstances, but we'll try to move on from it.
"It was definitely a physical game, but they're the kind of games you love to play in, a physical battle in midfield. We just tried to stick to the game plan as best we could and try and get results."
Next up for the Hibees as Joelle Murray's side seek a necessary win is a home match against bottom club Hamilton Academical.
With a number of players suffering from injury whilst others return to the matchday squad, the clash is a welcome opportunity for Hibs to put points on the board after a tricky run of fixtures.
"Another tough game against Hamilton next week.
"We're definitely looking forward to trying to get more points on the board and looking forward to getting more bodies on the pitch.
"With some injuries, some girls coming back and getting minutes, it'll be crucial for them to get some minutes and hopefully we'll get a result next week."
