Catherine, Princess of Wales, has become the most popular royal, but it seems quite a few people in the family aren’t too thrilled about it. While we know about ex-Prince Andrew’s alleged rage towards Kate, and his daughters’ alleged feud, there’s another one to the mix, that no one will be surprised about: Queen Camilla.
There have been rumors of a rift for years, especially when Camilla invited Rose Hanbury to the coronation amid all the affair rumors and power struggles behind closed doors. And now, after Kate’s headline-making appearances, insiders claim Camilla is feeling the pressure.
Insiders told Closer Online UK about the alleged feud growing stronger, saying, “Kate’s been centre stage over Christmas, and Camilla’s been feeling sidelined. She’s still reeling from the banquet, feeling Kate’s tiara was no accident and highly symbolic. Kate was effectively telling the world that it won’t be long before she’s Queen.”
“Kate is stronger than people think, and she is not backing down. There’s no doubt Camilla is panicked – but instead of falling into line and respecting Kate, she’s chosen to be territorial,” the insider added to the outlet. “Camilla needs to dial back this envy and resentment before it becomes a bigger problem. After everything Kate’s been through, the last thing she needs is to be pulled to pieces just for trying to do her job. She won’t back down.”
This feud isn’t backing down either, and it hasn’t for over a decade. In 2016, royal author Christopher Andersen claimed to the Daily Beast that Camilla was behind Kate and William’s split in 2007.
He called Camilla “a bit of a snob” who didn’t believe Kate was “worthy of joining the royal family.” The Brothers and Wives writer alleged that Camilla “whispered in Charles’s ear” to encourage William to break up with his girlfriend.
