Katie posted a video to social media over the weekend, in which she revealed a pregnancy test that showed she was expecting.
The video included clips of her buying baby items and laying them out on a bed to surprise her husband. However, later in the video, she appears in a hospital bed crying.
“I just lost my baby,” she tragically revealed.
The video also included a popular sound of an audio of a woman saying: “I think I will ask God ‘Why?’ for the rest of my life. And never will I come to understand it. Even if God himself came in front of me and told me the reason, I don’t think I will accept it.”
“Some loves are too hard to bear and with great love comes great pain. And with great loss comes the greatest pain of all. If love could’ve saved you, you would’ve lived forever,” the audio continues.
“I will spend the rest of my life missing you ????,” Katie captioned the post.
The couple had their first child, Hailey James, back in 2023. They had a son, Harvey Gray, the following year.
Bringing Up Bates aired for 10 seasons on Up TV and followed Gil and Kelly Bates, their 19 children, and their extended family. The Bates family was also on a TV series called United Bates of America on TLC.
Our thoughts are with Katie and Travis at this difficult time. There have already been several big losses in 2026.
