Why a decision on Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham is ‘not imminent’ despite talks
The Tottenham Hotspur board are considering Thomas Frank’s future following the club’s 2-1 loss to West Ham on Saturday.
The London derby on Saturday against a struggling Hammers side was a must-win game for the Lilywhites, but they were once again beaten in front of their home fans.
Tottenham are languishing in 14th place in the table and are still waiting for their first home win of 2026.
Chants of ‘you are getting sacked in the morning’ rang around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it was coming from the home fans. It appears that the supporters’ prediction may be about to come true.
Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham is in serious doubt
According to The Daily Mail, Frank’s job is now under serious threat after the reaction from Spurs fans on Saturday.
The report reveals that the Tottenham hierarchy are now seriously considering making a managerial change, but an announcement from the club may not be imminent.
As things stand, Frank is expected to take charge of Spurs for their Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
However, there is uncertainty over whether the 52-year-old will last beyond that game or how long he will be given to turn around the team’s fortunes.
Toxicity around Spurs may force club into Frank sack decision
The Mail explain that in the lead up to Saturday’s clash, the message from the club was that Frank still has the support of the hierarchy and that there was no appetite for change.
However, the toxicity inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has caused a rethink at the club, with the top brass now weighing up all of their options.
Interestingly, it is pointed out that although John Heitinga arrived as Frank’s assistant, the Dutchman’s presence now provides the Spurs chiefs with an interim option should they decide to call time on Frank’s spell at the club.
