Chicago’s Asking Price For Coby White Has Been Leaked
Coby White has been one of the hottest names on the trade market not only in Chicago but leaguewide. Starting with the rumors that the Minnesota Timberwolves were interested in adding backcourt help and eyeing the former Tar Heel guard, continuing onto any contending roster that was looking for a sixth-man talent who can average close to 20 points per game off the bench, White has been considered one of the most desirable assets for any suitor. Two days ago, Bret Siegel of Clutch Points said in an interview that the holdup between the Bulls and another team executing a trade might be the asking price for their young guard. Here’s what they want, and what they’ll likely get in return for the blossoming star.
Asking Price Is An Unprotected First-Round Pick
While Siegel says this has played a role in why the Bulls haven’t done a deal involving the 25-year-old guard, this is not an outrageous price tag. Given that a contending roster will likely add White, the draft pick, assuming it’s this year’s draft or in the near future, would likely land between the 15th overall selection and the 30th draft choice and handing over an asset of that level in exchange for a borderline All-Star caliber player that is only 25 years old lines up with similar trades in the past. Over the last three seasons, White has averaged nearly 20 points and five assists per contest, while being one of the league’s most dangerous three-point threats and skilled playmakers. His addition to any roster immediately bolsters their offensive firepower and, by association, improves the supporting cast.

Chicago Should Take That Deal
If presented with a trade involving an unprotected first-round draft selection in the next month, Arturas Karnisovas and the front office should immediately accept. This season is destined for another NBA Play-In Tournament appearance, or an absence from any qualifiers beyond the regular season altogether. In addition, White is on an expiring contract that will surely at least double, if not triple, in annual value this summer. With the surplus of guards on the roster and the inability to turn in a winning product for at least the next few seasons, the seventh-year guard needs to be gone by the time the trade cutoff is over.
The Bulls are open to trading Coby White for the right price.
After being unable to reach an extension agreement before the season, plus White’s asking price, Chicago will gauge his value in the marketplace.

Fringe teams such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, or the Miami Heat will be looking for help, and Chicago has the perfect answer for immediate success and a long-term investment.
Should Karnisovas’s group trade away White, regardless of whether or not they’re offered top-end draft stock?
