Bride Wants to Call Off Her Wedding in 3 Weeks After Groom Comes Home with Dramatic New Look: 'Everything Is in Chaos'
A bride is reportedly tempted to call off her wedding, which is only three weeks away, after her husband pulled off a shocking transformation.
Taking to Reddit’s popular “Wedding Drama” forum, a user revealed that their cousin was having second thoughts about walking down the aisle after her fiancé made a drastic change to his appearance while on a camping trip with his friends.

In the post, the Redditor wrote that their cousin’s partner was renowned for his “wonderful, thick, wavy hair.”
“Then, just after Christmas he went on a boys camping trip and came back with a shaved head. He was also clean shaven but now is growing a beard,” the user wrote, adding that the bride hadn’t “approved” the big changes and was “beside herself.”
They wrote that the groom’s haircut took him from a “preppy lawyer to looking like a biker” and even aged him 15 years.
“Nobody has any idea why he went and did this. Not even he can provide a good explanation of what went down on the camping trip that would cause him to want to go bald,” the user admitted.
After he debuted his new look, the cousin wrote, “Everything is in chaos.” They said the bride is even tempted to “call everything off and break up.”
The bride’s friends and family are “trying to talk her down,” and the cousin even offered to get the groom a wig to ear for the big day. However, they wrote that everyone is “in limbo as to whether or not there will even be a wedding.”
“Hopefully the two of them can talk it out but if he really was getting cold feet why didn’t he talk to her about it instead of shaving his head?” they concluded.
Taking to the comments section, users were split on the response.
Some argued that calling off the wedding over a haircut seemed a bit extreme, with one Reddit even writing, “My other issue is that [original poster] had the comment that is was done without the approval of the bride. Like, he does not need her permission for a haircut and to grow a beard.”
Another defensive Redditor encouraged the bride to call things off, adding, “for his sake” to imply that she’d be doing her partner a huge favor.
However, others came out on the bride’s side, arguing that her concerns were being minimized.
“It’s clearly not just [about] the haircut. It’s the fact that he made all these changes only 3 weeks out from the wedding without consulting his wife AT ALL. And then to not even explain his reasonings on the why of it? It’s also not even a haircut, he literally shaved all of his hair completely OFF… when women shave their heads or make a sudden drastic change to their appearance it is often times brought on by an emotional breakdown of sorts…and men are NOT immune from that ya know,” one user wrote.
They continued, writing, “If your partner that you’re literally [about] to commit your life to can’t even bother to consult with you [about] making changes like that, then what else will he do without running it by his wife? Does he not value his bride-to-be’s opinion? And does he really not care enough to offer explanation even [though] his fiancé is practically begging for it?”
“Making a big sudden unilateral decision like that doesn’t exactly signify unity and partnership.. nor does it signify emotional stability,” they wrote, accusing people of “downplay[ing the situation] to make the bride look like the crazy one for questioning if she wants to go [through] with it.”
Another user chimed in on the bride’s side, arguing that the haircut was “a big thing just before a wedding.”
“It’s about the sudden change, a side of him she had never seen before. If it happened during a normal time in their relationship, I would be 100% on his side. But doing this just before a wedding hits different,” they opined.
They added, “My advice is find out what pushed him over the edge so bad that he had to radically change his appearance behind her back. Usually people who act so extreme are going through some sort of anxiety or depression. Is she maybe too pushy sometimes, making him not in control of his life?”
