An Introduction to Marine Electrics is a practical, beginner-friendly course designed to give participants a solid foundation in the principles and applications of electrical systems used aboard boats and small vessels. Whether you are a boat owner, aspiring marine professional, or simply interested in understanding how marine electrical systems work, this course will build your confidence and knowledge in a safe, structured way.
Delivered over four three-hour sessions on Tuesday evenings, the course combines clear explanations with real-world examples to help demystify marine electrics. You will learn essential concepts such as basic electrical theory, batteries and charging systems, wiring and circuits, fault finding, and safe working practices specific to the marine environment.
By the end of the course, you will have a practical understanding of common marine electrical systems and the confidence to carry out basic checks, identify problems, and communicate effectively with marine electricians when more advanced work is required.
