Brittany Cartwright Handles ‘Pretty Much Everything’ to Do With Parenting Son Cruz Amid Divorce from Jax Taylor
Brittany Cartwright just called out ex Jax Taylor about his role in co-parenting their 4-year-old son Cruz. The Valley star candidly admitted that she handles “pretty much everything” to do with Cruz amid her divorce from Taylor.
Saying that co-parenting has it’s “ups and downs” in an interview on California Live, per Bravo, Cartwright admitted, “I think that we are getting better at it.”
Still, she has to do most of the work on her own. “I take care of pretty much everything by myself, so, you know, [Jax] is doing better and a lot of things like that,” Cartwright added. “He definitely loves his son, but, you know, I just get things done.”
She also gushed about her little boy, revealing, “I feel like I’m thriving as a single mom. My son is so amazing, and I feel like … I always wanted to be a mom. He’s so cute. He is my little everything; he’s my best friend, and, you know, honestly, I just love having him with me all the time. I just love it.”
The Vanderpump Rules star met in 2015 and starred in their own spinoff series, Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky. They got married in 2019 and welcomed Cruz in 2021. In 2024, the couple announced their split, and they are still navigating co-parenting as they finalize their divorce.
In September, Cartwright told Extra that co-parenting is a challenge. “It’s Jax, so always difficult,” she said. “It’s always gonna be a challenge, but Cruz is the most important thing to both of us.”
“We’re trying to get to a common ground. It’s just going to take a little bit of time to heal,” she added.
Then a couple months later, Cartwright said on her When Reality Hits podcast that she is “very much a full-time mom.” “And I love it. And I appreciate that. I love everything,” she continued, per Bravo.
“You know, I think Jax is trying to work on himself,” she continued. “So I hope that, you know, we can continue to work on our co-parenting relationship and just get better and stronger all the time. And hopefully, one day, it will be a very successful co-parenting relationship, because that’s what really matters. Cruz is always going to come first.”
