Bruins Believe They’re Playing ‘Very Steady’ As Win Streak Extend To Five
The Boston Bruins picked up a 4-2 home win over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday to extend their win streak to five games.
Boston got out to a 2-0 lead less than four minutes into the game, as the Bruins started strong. The Bruins never looked back from there as Boston cruised to a win to go undefeated on its five-game homestand, which head coach Marco Sturm was happy about.
“I think we’ve been very steady, actually,” Sturm said on Thursday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “And if you look at our third periods now, all five games at home, they’ve probably been one of our better ones.
“So I think that was the biggest reason (for the home success). Just to be more consistent, stay calm and play better defensively. And obviously, our goalies were excellent.”
The Bruins were led by Marat Khusnutdinov, Viktor Arvidsson, Mark Kastelic, and David Pastrnak, who all scored, while Jeremy Swayman made 26 saves in the win.
Boston forward Viktor Arvidsson believes the team being healthy and having fun has also been a key part of its success as of late.
“We’re healthy, we’re really skating and helping each other, finding each other with close passes and really connecting,” Arvidsson added. “We’re just having fun out there, and that’s a big part of it, too.”
The Bruins are now 27-19-2 and holding onto the final wild card spot. Boston will go on the road to play the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday before playing the Dallas Stars in a two-game mini road trip.
