Tottenham could make interesting decision as they assess Thomas Frank’s future
Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a bold managerial call after identifying the manager who could replace Thomas Frank.
Over the past few weeks, we have heard reports suggesting that Frank will be given until the end of the season and only then will Spurs assess his work.
However, other reports have claimed that the Tottenham board are assessing all options at the moment as the team’s slide down the Premier League table continues.
Frank is confident that he still has the support of the Spurs hierarchy, but a new update has suggested that the Dane’s job may not be as secure as he thinks.
Tottenham do not want to sack Thomas Frank this season
Football Insider say that there is an acceptance among the Lilywhites hierarchy that sacking Frank is ‘the last thing they want to do’.
However, that does not mean it is not on the cards, with the report stating that the 52-year-old’s job is hanging by a thread, and it could spell the end for him if Tottenham lose to West Ham on Saturday.
The outlet confirms what we have heard from other sources by stating that Oliver Glasner has emerged as a top contender to replace Frank.
With the Austrian expected to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, it is suggested that Tottenham could appoint an interim manager for the next few months if they decide to part ways with Frank.
Spurs will face competition for Oliver Glasner
However, Football Insider make it clear that getting Glasner through the door will be easy for the North Londoners, given how high his stock is at the moment.
The Crystal Palace boss is on the radar of several clubs, including Man United, who are on the lookout for Ruben Amorim’s long-term replacement.
The outlet adds that Glasner would welcome the chance to manage United and would be ‘keen’ on a switch to Old Trafford.
