What are your top three goals for your pizza restaurant in the coming year?

My top three goals for R Town Pizza in 2026 are:

1. Continue to build and deepen our connection with the Reno community – making the shop a true gathering place.

2. Expand our sourcing and collaboration with other independent businesses.

3. Keep innovating with our menu and specials, while staying true to what makes Detroit-style pizza special.

How do you plan to improve business operations and profitability in 2026?

To improve operations and profitability, I’m focusing on streamlining prep and inventory management, and investing in team training so we can keep quality and service consistent even as we grow.

How do you plan to stay competitive in a crowded market?

To stay competitive, we will keep doing what we have been doing and focus on keeping our experience as open and as human as possible. We do this through our local community initiatives and our social media, to show that we aren’t just a “brand” and that we are real humans behind all of this.

How do you plan to support your employees’ growth and encourage retention in the new year?

Supporting my team is a big priority. I want to create more opportunities for growth, both in skills and leadership, and make sure R Town is a place people want to stay long term. Currently we offer health benefits, paid vision and dental, supplemental insurance, and 401k on top of a competitive pay environment.

What’s one skill or area of knowledge you’d like to improve as a business owner in 2026?

One thing I am working on this year is becoming a better leader. I managed restaurants for years, very successfully, but I have found I do have some glaring weaknesses now that I am an owner that I want to address, not only for my team but myself.
