Royal Insiders Expect Meghan Markle & Prince Harry To Bring Kids Archie & Lilibet to the UK This Summer
This might finally be the year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, return to the UK. Royal insiders expect the kids will return to their father’s home country for the first time in four years this summer for a very important reason.
The Sussexes may decide to bring their kids to the UK to attend the one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games this summer, now that Prince Harry’s request for security is under review. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Express, “It does seem likely that Meghan will return to the UK. If Harry came alone, it would spark further rumors of a marital split. Also, she has to pave the way for her appearance at Invictus next year.”
He added, “I suspect that if they bring their children, the reception will be much softer, so I would bet that they do. It is a chance to push the cause of reconciliation in the lead up to Invictus 2027 in Birmingham. There is little doubt they will get the security they want and the King would obviously like to see his grandchildren.”
How awesome would it be for King Charles to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet again? Especially since sources have speculated that the king will not visit his grandchildren when he comes to the US in April.
Prince Harry has advocated for increased security for him and his family when visiting the UK, which is why his kids have not been back since 2022. He might be granted this soon, as insiders told the Mail on Sunday on Jan. 4 that the government is likely to reverse their decision and grant the Sussexes official, taxpayer-funded, armed, full-time security when they visit the UK.
“It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is now nailed on for Harry,” an insider told The Mail.
Another insider shared, “If you knew about the kind of threats Harry and his children have been getting then you would understand why he doesn’t want to bring the kids over until police protection is granted.”
Prince Harry has already expressed interest in bringing his kids back to the UK for a visit, so it seems like that will actually happen once he is officially granted security. And what better time than at an event for the Invictus Games? This festive, Paralympic-style competitive event made up of injured service men and women was founded by Prince Harry in 2014. Bringing his kids together to garner excitement for an event close to his heart, which will be held in his home country this year, sounds like the perfect step forward for reconciliation!
