Teen kidnapped, sexually battered while on way to school in San Jose
SAN JOSE — A teenage girl was kidnapped and sexually battered while walking to school Wednesday morning, police said.
Few details of the incident were released by police, but in a statement they said they later arrested a person without incident following a traffic stop in which officers drew guns.
According to police, the 15-year-old girl was on her way to school when the suspect approached her and pulled her into his vehicle. From there, police said he proceeded to sexually batter her.
Police did not say when or where the incident occurred or what school the girl attends.
Detectives with San Jose police’s sexual assault investigations unit used a license plate reading database to identify the suspect and the vehicle being used. Officers in a helicopter located the car at an undisclosed location in south San Jose and with guns deployed, pulled over the driver and arrested him there.
Police said the girl has been offered medical and other resources as part of her recovery.
