Bears predictions: divisional round playoff game vs. Rams
The Sun-Times’ Bears experts make their picks for the divisional round playoff game against the Rams on Sunday night at Soldier Field (5:30 p.m., NBC 5):
Patrick Finley
Bears, 27-26: The Bears have lost nine straight “Sunday Night Football” games. Their last win was against these same Rams in 2018. Rather than a 15-6 pitcher’s duel — Vic Fangio’s formula against the Rams was followed by the Patriots to win the Super Bowl that year — this game will be won by the last team with the ball. Season: 10-8.
Jason Lieser
Rams, 39-34: The Rams have been dominant for most of this season and are further along than the Bears. It's still been a tremendous turning point for the organization, and the Super Bowl should be the target next season. Season: 10-8.
Scoop Jackson
Rams, 23-21: This “team of destiny” thing will more than likely meet its match in Sunday night's game. It will be the Bears final game of this “team of destiny” season. They’ll finally discover what reality feels like. Season: 9-9.
Steve Greenberg
Rams, 28-23: Caleb Williams, future MVP? Caleb Williams, future Hall of Famer? We’re dreamers these days. But Matthew Stafford is those things right now. A true great will shine. Season: 12-6.
