Tottenham provide official James Maddison injury update after social media video
Tottenham Hotspur have provided the latest on James Maddison’s rehabilitation from his ACL injury after his latest video update.
Spurs fans have been left frustrated by the lack of concrete updates about the club’s injured players, not just this season, but also for much of the last two campaigns.
The rehabilitation timeline for players has often been continuously extended, as we have seen with both Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski this term.
Thomas Frank has been hesitant to put a timeframe on the return of his players, but the club have now offered an update on the recovery of one of their senior men.
Tottenham reveal ‘encouraging’ James Maddison update
It was reported earlier that the Tottenham midfielder is unlikely to play again this season, which is not surprising, given that the 29-year-old tore his ACL towards the end of pre-season.
Now, Tottenham have stated on their official website that Maddison is expected to remain sidelined for ‘several more months’, but they reveal that he has shown some ‘encouraging’ signs recently as he slowly inches closer to his return.
The club’s statement about the attacking midfielder reads: “While he is expected to remain out for several more months as he continues his rehabilitation, it is certainly an encouraging sight to see Madders slowly getting back to doing what he loves most.”
What Maddison has said about his recovery
Maddison has been posting some positive updates on social media in regular intervals over the last few months. However, the 28-year-old has all but ruled out playing a significant chunk of this campaign.
Speaking to the media last month, Maddison admitted that his England World Cup dream is over as he will not have enough time to return to action and impress Thomas Tuchel.
However, Spurs fans will be holding out hope that the former Leicester man can potentially play a part in the last few matches of the campaign.
