The latest spinoff series, based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, follows the unlikely adventures of a lowborn hedge knight named Ser Duncan the Tall, “Dunk,” and his squire, Prince Aegon Targaryen, “Egg.”
As a series that takes place in the Game of Thrones universe, savvy fans will recognize several names and characters in the show.
Finn Bennett plays Egg’s older brother Prince Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen, while Bertie Carvel is Prince Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryan, heir to the Iron Throne and Egg’s uncle.
Tanzyn Crawford plays Tanselle, a Dornish puppeteer; and Daniel Ings is Ser Lyonel Baratheon, heir to House Baratheon. Sam Spruell plays Egg’s father, Prince Maekar Targaryen.
A Knight of Seven Kingdoms was co-created by George and Ira Parker. They also executive produced. The show will premiere on HBO on January 18.
Also of note is that Industry star Myha’la Herrold came to the premiere to support the cast! She attended with her new husband Armando Rivera.
The pair secretly wed over a year ago and made their public debut together at the Industry season 4 premiere. The financial thriller series also airs on HBO.
