Angel City FC signs Riley Tiernan to 2-year extension
Riley Tiernan had a meteoric rise with Angel City Football Club last year.
The Rutgers alum, went from non-roster invitee to starting forward and leading goal scorer and ended the season as a nominee for the NWSL Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year awards.
Tuesday, Angel City announced a two-year contract extension for Tiernan through the 2028 season.
“Riley had a fantastic start to her professional career in 2025 and we are so thrilled that she has extended her contract with Angel City,” ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons said. “We believe this is just the beginning for Riley and I’m excited for (coach Alexander Strauss) and our technical staff to continue supporting and challenging Riley to new heights.”
Tiernan started all 26 games last season and finished with eight goals and an assist. She finished as the league’s top-scoring rookie and the new single-season Angel City goal record holder.
“I am so beyond excited to be staying in LA,” Tiernan said in a statement. “I cannot express how thankful I am for the warm welcome I received from everyone as a rookie.
“I am so grateful to continue to learn, grow, and improve as a player here at this amazing club.”
