NFL Writer Proposes Blockbuster Patriots-Eagles Trade For A.J. Brown
The New England Patriots are going to be a hot team for many star players this offseason, and they could be in a position to trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A. J. Brown.
Philadelphia still has Brown under contract until 2029, but there’s a possibility the Eagles might trade him this offseason due to his frustrations at times during the season.
If the Eagles are looking to move Brown, the Patriots should try to acquire him. Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine predicted New England could trade for Brown, giving up its 2026 first-round pick, 2026 third-round pick, and 2027 third-round pick.
“That arms race could be a major offseason through line, but the Patriots have more resources to assemble the best offer for the Eagles receiver,” Ballentine wrote on Tuesday. “With 11 draft picks and $54 million in cap space, New England could comfortably come up with a package that would put Brown in pass-heavy offense with ascending quarterback Drake Maye.
“The move would put pressure on other AFC contenders to get aggressive to keep up with the Pats while shifting the Eagles offense in Philly.”
Brown may not have the opportunity to state his preferred trade destination. However, if given the choice, New England could top his list, especially since he played under head coach Mike Vrabel for three seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
