Captured by David Sims, Dior Spring-Summer 2026 Is A Study in Character
After champagne and fireworks, New Year’s Eve leaves us with its signature parting gift: a clean slate. For luxury fashion label Dior, this fresh canvas proved the perfect opportunity to reintroduce itself. With Loewe alum Jonathan Anderson at the helm, today’s Dior is propelled by an insatiable appetite for innovation. Yet the Maison remains respectful of — and emboldened by — its rich heritage. Shot by renowned fashion photographer David Sims, Dior Spring-Summer 2026 takes the pulse of a maison in motion.
Alternating between black-and-white and colour stills, the campaign highlights the influence of filter on atmosphere. Clean linens and parquet floors, elegant in their subtlety, create an airy and elevated ambiance; each look has room to breathe.
Simple and sophisticated, the scene makes an ideal partner for the new collection. Composed of breezy denim pants and soft knitted capes, Dior SS26 puts textiles at the forefront. There’s a mid-century sensibility to the reimagined Bar Jacket, which references the architectural, linear quality of the H-line designed by Christian Dior himself. Elsewhere, archival designs provide the basis for contemporary creativity. The arresting, voluminous silhouette of the Dior Delft Shorts, for example, nods to the original 1948 Delft Dress with its a daring use of fabric.
Beyond the clothes, the campaign is just as eye-catching. A star-studded cast includes footballer Kylian Mbappé alongside actors like Greta Lee, Louis Garrel, and Paul Kircher — as well as models Laura Kaiser, Sunday Rose, and Saar Mansvelt Beck. Draped in Dior, these subjects play with the space between rest and rehearsal. As Dior said in a statement: “Style is how these individuals conduct themselves: the intuitive sense they have when their appearance feels right, and how they dress up each day to become a new character.”
Of course, no recap is complete without a mention of accessories. For Spring-Summer 2026, regal accents are everywhere — look no further than the charming Dior Trèfle Brooch. Fashioned in silver-finish brass, the brooch decorates the classic CD insignia with two four-leaf clovers. A CD insignia also features on the (adjustable) suede leather strap of Dior’s Normandie Tote, an essential commuter’s bag made from cowhide suede and lined with calfskin.
To top it off, Dior also presents the Book Cover Collection, which offers a slew of embroidered designs inspired by great works of literature. Find Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du Mal on a reversible jacket, Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood on a tote bag, or James Joyce’s Ulysses on a bright blue card holder — among other titles.
