Juventus talks with Nottingham Forest to avoid Douglas Luiz’s return
Sources in Italy claim that Nottingham Forest are unlikely to make Douglas Luiz’s move from Juventus permanent, but the Bianconeri are already in talks to avoid the Brazilian’s return.
Premier League side Nottingham Forest are unsatisfied with Douglas Luiz’s loan spell and could decide to send him back to Juventus at the end of the season.
Douglas Luiz’s uncertain future at Nottingham Forest
Tuttosport and TMW have reported that the Brazilian’s future in the Premier League club is uncertain, as the 27-year-old has only provided one assist in 13 appearances across all competitions, collecting just 642 minutes of football.
If Douglas Luiz plays at least 45 minutes in 15 appearances across all competitions this season, Nottingham Forest will have an obligation to sign him permanently for €25m.
Currently, the Brazilian has only collected ten 45-minute-long appearances and has started only once in the last 12 Premier League matches.
Juventus don’t want Douglas Luiz’s return
TMW notes that Douglas Luiz could remain on the bench in most games in the second part of the campaign, lifting Forest’s obligation to buy and further decreasing the player’s worth.
Therefore, Juventus director Marco Ottolini has been in talks with Lina Souloukou in recent days to find a possible solution, as Juventus are unwilling to welcome Douglas Luiz back to the club.
