Champions League 2025/26: English clubs well-placed to progress
Football bettors are spoilt for choice later this month, with the final two rounds of Champions League group stage fixtures scheduled to be played across Europe.
Much like players on slots games, punters will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of the league phase to see if their team is able to hit the jackpot.
Predicting the final standings is as tricky as forecasting which way the symbols will land on a slot machine given the different variables in play.
However, each of the Premier League’s six representatives are well-placed to progress to the round of 16. Read on as we look at the latest state of play in the Premier League.

Premier League big guns on course for the round of 16
Arsenal have reeled off six consecutive wins in the Champions League this season and should easily guarantee their place in the last-16.
They could feasibly be joined by five other English teams at that stage of the competition, although some of them may need to navigate through the knockout round play-offs.
Manchester City are currently inside the top eight with two games remaining and have favourable fixtures against Bodo/Glimt (A) and Galatasaray (H) to come.
Liverpool (9th), Tottenham Hotspur (11th), Newcastle United (12th) and Chelsea (13th) are all in contention for a top eight finish, but at least a couple of them may end up below the line.
Fixtures against Marseille (A) and Qarabag (H) give Liverpool every chance of securing automatic progression to the round of 16.
Tottenham face difficult tasks against Borussia Dortmund (H) and Eintracht Frankfurt (A), and will likely end the league phase in one of the play-off spots.
Newcastle will fancy their chances of beating PSV Eindhoven at St James’ Park, but their visit to reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain will be a different ball-game.
The Magpies should be able to remain inside the top 24, and will need to battle their way through a play-off tie to progress to the last-16.
A similar fate awaits Chelsea. They should beat Pafos FC at Stamford Bridge, but their final league phase fixture at Serie A giants Napoli is fraught with danger.
