Misbehaving 20-year-old back in cells
A 20-year-old man accused of six offences was hauled back to the cells at Central Police Station yesterday after he began misbehaving on leaving the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No. 2.
Akiel Curvin Forde, of Belleview Gap, Waterford, St Michael, reappeared before Magistrate Manila Renee after he had been remanded to Dodds Prison in January last year. When his case came up yesterday, he questioned the adjournment date given to him.
When he left the courtroom, handcuffed, and was descending the steps, he began tugging and struggling to get away from the prison officer, bouncing him with his shoulder and demanding that he “leh go my ***hole hand”.
The officer maintained his grasp and with Forde shouting, a police officer in the courtyard ran to assist, along with a second lawman who heard the commotion from inside the District “A” Traffic Court.
