If professional development goals are on your mind for 2026, enrolling in an online course is a great way to start picking up new skills to bolster your résumé. Out of the many online learning platforms we've tested, Coursera is one of the best to help you achieve career goals, and with the current Coursera Plus deal, there's no better time to subscribe.
Coursera is starting the new year off strong by taking 50% off the first year of a Coursera Plus subscription for new subscribers, bringing the price down from $399 to just $199. This is the lowest price we've ever seen a Coursera Plus subscription drop to, even surpassing the platform's Cyber Monday deal, which offered 40% off. If you subscribe right now, you can be confident you're getting the best possible price.
A Coursera Plus subscription gives you unlimited access to thousands of courses on the platform with no extra charges. Among the site's catalog are modules covering a wide range of topics from reputable companies and universities, from "Data Analytics" by Google to "Python for Data Science, AI, and Development" by IBM.
Check out our full Coursera guide to learn more about the platform, or browse through more courses on the site.
Keep in mind that the current Coursera discount is only valid for your first year of a Coursera Plus subscription. After that window has passed, your subscription will automatically renew at the original price, currently $399 a year, unless you cancel.

Coursera Plus deal: FAQs
When does the Coursera Plus deal end?
The Coursera Plus deal is live now and will continue until January 26, so you still have a few weeks left to subscribe.
Can current Coursera Plus subscribers get the discount?
The New Year's offer is only valid for new Coursera Plus members, so current or previous subscribers are not eligible for the deal. However, you can still get the discount if you've taken free Coursera courses before, as long as you haven't already subscribed to Coursera Plus.
Is there a free version of Coursera?
It's free to make a basic Coursera account, and you can take select courses on the platform without any extra cost. However, any courses that offer a certificate upon completion will have an enrollment fee associated with them. Subscribing to Coursera Plus waives these fees, which would otherwise add up quickly if you plan to take multiple courses.
